The Lovely Kitchen Company is a cabinet and joinery business established and run by David and Sarah Hicks. We specialise in bespoke design, production and installation of traditional and contemporary timberwork, focussing on individual service and high quality workmanship.
Working for the family business from the late 1990s, David started in the building trade at an early age. Taking a lead on joinery, his talent for design and passion for woodwork evolved into a standalone business leading to the formation of The Lovely Kitchen Company in 2008.
With a reputation for personal service and high standards, our customer base has developed through recommendation alone. David undertakes all design work and directly oversees the build and installation process from start to finish. Working with our small team of skilled joiners, we build every item from scratch using traditional techniques to create beautiful, solid furniture.
Catering for all styles and functional requirements, we can fit any space, no matter what shape or size. We encourage all customers to view our work and talk to past clients to see the quality of our timberwork first-hand.
The Project Process
Working with you to develop ideas from an initial concept to the finished product, we offer a range of services from the supply of single items of furniture through to full project management covering all aspects of building work.
Estimate & scope
The process starts with a discussion of your requirements and a visit to your home. If you have not already seen our work, we will take you to see one of our recent projects. We will provide a range of options and a rough cost.
Design & quotation
If you’d like to proceed, we will finalise the design with you and produce a detailed set of drawings with a fixed price.
Production & build
Work will be scheduled in, including coordination (and provision if requested) of trades such as plumbers, electricians, decorators, granite fitters and ceramic tilers, to ensure that the process runs smoothly. Cabinets and furniture are constructed in our workshops and transported to site for fitting.
